How often do you wake up feeling un-rested and wishing you could have just one more hour in bed? You're not alone. Many of us feel that they haven't had enough sleep and are yearning to sleep better.

There are many different reasons that you might be having a disturbed sleep, or struggling to get to sleep, such as Hormonal imbalances, stress, diet or lifestyle. Therefore it can be difficult to determine what it is that's not allowing you to enjoy your sleep. Yet having a good night's sleep is so important and has many benefits for your well-being, such as:

Put your phone to bed

Looking at your phone just before going to sleep is a big no. We're all guilty of it, it's the last thing we look at night and the first thing we pick up in the morning. 

Looking at your phone just before going to sleep exposes you to the nasty blue and white light that your device gives off. This light prevents our body from relaxing and our hormones tell our body that we're not ready to sleep. This can also be the reason why you might toss and turn and have an interrupted sleep. So switch off and pick up a book or magazine instead!

Have a relaxing bath before bed

Run yourself a warm bath before bed, or spend that little bit longer in the shower. Indulge in your favourite bubbles or soaks and light your favourite candle. Relax, take some slow deep breaths and enjoy the comforting hug of your warm bath.

Sip some Chamomile tea

We love the benefits that Chamomile tea has. It can relax, sooth and warmth the body. Sip on some caffeine free tea an hour before bed, whilst winding down for the evening.
